Humbled...

"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when though walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." Isaiah 43:2

I have been absent from my blog for many days. I have had several pity parties and mini-mental meltdowns during that time. So often we get caught up in our "issues" that we forget the bigger picture. The bigger picture is this, God is in control! We tend to take so many things for granted, which in turn takes the focus off of God. As I sat in the bathroom at work the other day having one of my mental meltdowns because I was late, forgot to sign my child's folder for school, and felt that I looked like a monster, I received a text from my cousin telling me that one of our dear friends had been diagnosed with breast cancer. It nearly knocked me off of my feet. I thought to myself, here I am complaining about nothing and my dear friend is facing probably one of the biggest battles of her life.

As my tears reverted from my "issues" to processing my friends battle, one of my God sent friends told me that God cares about all of our problems, big or small. We just have to choose to trust him in the midst of it all. As I have stated many times before, we will have issues. Problems will arise, but our hope must lie in the fact that God has our back. In John 14:18 he tells us that "I will not leave you comfortless: I WILL COME TO YOU." We don't even have to go hunting for him!!! That is the beauty of God. He cares for us all and wants the best for us all. We just have to make it a priority to be willing vessels and surrender all to him. So if you are battling a mountain or a mole hill, TRUST GOD!

I will leave you with this, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

  1. Yes, yes, yes, girl! Boldly unto the throne we must go. All we TRULY desire is HIM! Everything else is just a deceiving facade of happiness. HE is our EVERYTHING!
